On October 24th, an expert panel approved the compilation project of Hubei Province's Digital Agriculture Construction Guidelines, undertaken by South-Central Minzu University. During the acceptance meeting, the expert panel thoroughly reviewed the project and highly praised the content, feasibility, and practical application potential of the guidelines. Representatives from Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences, South-Central Minzu University, and relevant units attended the meeting, which was hosted by Tian Wei, Deputy Director of the School of Computer Science.
At the meeting, Tie Jun, Dean of the School of Computer Science and project leader, provided a detailed introduction to the background of the project compilation. Following this, project team members from South-Central Minzu University and Institute of Agricultural Economic Technology, Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences presented a comprehensive report on the overall status of the project construction. The report emphasized that, based on extensive research into the current state and needs of digital agriculture development in Hubei Province, the project team had developed construction guidelines specifically tailored for digital agriculture pilot counties and digital agriculture application bases. These guidelines, customized for various agricultural application scenarios, offered construction content, implementation pathways, safeguard measures, and other guidance suggestions for pilot county construction and five types of digital agriculture application bases (including field cropping, facility vegetable farming, pig farming, poultry farming, and aquaculture). Detailed technical parameters and functional requirements were also provided.
After careful review and discussion, the expert panel unanimously agreed that the two guidelines were comprehensive in content, well-structured, and highly feasible, providing a scientific reference for digital agriculture construction efforts across various regions. The expert panel noted that the compilation of the guidelines had significant reference value for advancing the construction of digital agriculture pilot counties and application bases in Hubei Province and met the acceptance requirements, thereby approving the acceptance review.
The compilation project, which successfully passed the acceptance review, aims to facilitate the deep integration of digital technology and agricultural development, establish a fundamental data resource system for agriculture and rural areas, and explore replicable and scalable models for digital agriculture construction. Additionally, the guidelines emphasize the extensive application of digital technology in all aspects of agricultural production, operation, management, and services, seeking out a new development path for agricultural industry digitization and digital agricultural industrialization.
