On October 19th, the School of Computer Science held the general meeting for the replacement of the council of the Alumni Association Branch and the University-Enterprise Joint Innovation and Development Forum in the Academic Exchange Center. Fajun Song , the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of the university, Fuming Shu, the director of the Admissions and Employment Office (Alumni and Fund Work Office), Jun Qin, the dean of the Graduate School and the first president of the Alumni Branch of the School of Computer Science, as well as the leadership team of the School of Computer Science and alumni gathered together to talk about the feelings between teachers and students and the friendship among classmates, and jointly depict the blueprint for future development. The general meeting for the replacement and the development forum was chaired by Zuntao Ke, the secretary of the Party Committee of the school, and Jun Tie, the dean of the school respectively.
At the general meeting for the replacement, Fajun Song, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the vast number of alumni returning to their alma mater. He stated that alumni are not only the precious wealth of the school but also an important force in promoting the continuous development of the school. He hoped that the vast number of alumni could continue to care about and support the construction and development of their alma mater, contribute more wisdom and strength to the school, and jointly write a new chapter of South-Central Minzu University.

Jun Qin reviewed the work of the Alumni Association and expected that the new session of the Alumni Branch could continue to gather the strength of alumni and write a new chapter for the development of the alma mater's undertakings.
Weifang Wang, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the school, reported on the amendments to the constitution of the Alumni Branch of the School of Computer Science and the list of recommended candidates for the council. All the council members voted and passed it. The new session of the Alumni Council was officially established, and Tie Jun was appointed as the president of the council of the new session of the Alumni Branch.
On behalf of the new council, Jun Tie put forward three suggestions on how to effectively conduct the Alumni Association’s work: First, it is necessary to build platforms with heart, continuously enhancing the cohesion, sense of gain and sense of belonging of alumni; Second, it is necessary to improve awareness with emotion, enhancing the sense of mission of alumni work, and forming a joint development force that links up from top to bottom and promotes both inside and outside; Third, it is necessary to unblock channels with wisdom, creating a new situation of alumni connections and jointly continuing to write the glory of South-Central Minzu University.
The alumni representatives made exchanges and sharings based on their personal development. Professor Zhendong Niu, a doctoral supervisor at Beijing Institute of Technology and an alumnus of the class of 1985, expressed his gratitude for the education of the alma mater and the cultivation of teachers. He inspired everyone to closely follow the trend of the development of the times and cultivate innovative engineering talents in the new era with heart. Jie Ma, the founder of 01.AI and an alumnus of the class of 1995, was delighted with the changes on campus and the development of the school. He said that he would work together with the vast number of alumni to jointly contribute to the future development of the alma mater.

The signing ceremony of the alumni enterprise internship base kicked off amid warm applause. The School of Computer Science signed cooperation agreements with Wuhan Zhengqiyun Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Xijiawanwei Technology Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Meibijia Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. Both the school and the enterprises will jointly conduct research on prospective technologies and key common technologies, carry out the transformation of industry-university-research, and launch innovative integration and cross-border strategic cooperation.

At the University-Enterprise Joint Innovation and Development Forum, alumni from all walks of life delivered keynote speeches on high-quality development. Professor Yong Tan from Wuhan Polytechnic University, an alumnus of the class of 1985 and a national outstanding teacher, shared his experience in education and teaching and put forward a new idea for the orientation of talent cultivation: "Strengthening the foundation, mastering hard skills, cultivating soft power, and promoting innovation". Jinliang Chen, the general manager of China Railway Materials Trade Group Co., Ltd., an alumnus of the class of 1993, combined with the characteristics of the industry development, focused on the key word "transformation" and proposed the path to realize the new productivity with new quality. Professor Dejin Zhang from Shenzhen University, an alumnus of the class of 1994 and a doctoral supervisor, combined with the characteristics of his major, took the installation of deep-sea immersed tube tunnels as an example, and proposed that attention should be paid to the cross-application of multiple disciplines and specific practices focusing on the bottleneck problems, which triggered in-depth thinking. Professor Xiangbo Shu from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, an alumnus of the class of 2005 of the School of Computer Science, a national outstanding young talent and a doctoral supervisor, put forward innovative solutions around the development difficulties and pain points in the field of behavior recognition.
