In order to enhance the pertinancy and effectiveness of laboratory safety risk prevention, and effectively protect the personal safety of teachers and students as well as the harmony and stability of the campus, the College of Computer Science carried out a special inspection on the laboratory safety management before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. On the afternoon of June 7th, 2024, Ke Zuntao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Computer Science, Zhang Xiao, vice dean of the College of Computer Science, Wang Biao, director of the laboratory, Wu Jinglong, Wang Qiang and Zheng Lu of the laboratory jointly participated in the safety inspection. The inspection team focused on the weak aspects of laboratory safety management, resolutely took effective measures to strictly prevent the occurrence of safety accidents, and adopted rectification and supervision to the laboratory with hidden dangers.

The inspection team referred to the list of Laboratory Safety Inspection Items (2024), and made inspection to all kinds of laboratories in the College of Computer Science.  According to the characteristics of the computer laboratory, the inspection team focused on electricity safety, fire safety, environmental safety, open experiment specifications. The inspection team found that the overall safety of the College of Computer Science laboratory is good, and teaching, innovation, scientific research and other experimental activities were carried out in an orderly manner. In addition, according to the requirements of the relevant safety work of the university, the professional laboratory, innovation laboratory and research studio and other public areas of the College of Computer Science have been equipped with security monitoring. During the inspection, it was also found that some laboratory duty schedules were not clear, items were piled up in disorder, poor sanitary conditions, plug boards were placed in series and at random, the layout of wires was in disorder, and some fire extinguishers' inspection records were not standardized. The inspection team recorded the problems and safety risks found in the inspection, informed and required the relevant responsible person and the teachers and students of the laboratory to make rectification immediately, or within a time limit.

The inspection before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday is to promote the normalization of laboratory safety management by the college. In the future, the College of Computer Science will continue to increase investment, further improve the safety management mechanism, build a solid laboratory safety defense line, create a safe and reliable experimental environment for teachers and students, and ensure the safe and orderly operation of teaching and scientific research work.
